So what are the main principles of “The Planet” diet? They are in fact pretty easy: all we need to do is double our consumption of fruits and veggies, legumes, whole grains, nuts and seeds while significantly reducing (or dropping altogether) consumption of animal protein - meet, dairy and eggs. Note, that this diet allows you to consume fish in moderation (polluted waters and farmed fish is yet another topic). Ideally, a planetary health plate should consist by volume of approximately half a plate of fruits and veggies, while the other half should include primarily whole grains, unsaturated plant oils, plant-based protein, and might include as an option some animal-based protein (fish including).
