Masami, I think that our readers would be interested to learn about Better Bentos story. Let’s start from the beginning.
I have been always passionate about food and I liked that food can bring people together. When I was living in Australia I used to work at one of the local bakeries and it made me dream about opening my own one day. I kept this dream close to my heart even after moving to Shanghai, but back then I was very busy with my two children. Some years later when my children grew older, by some lucky accident I got introduced to the founders of Sprout Lifestyle - a food education platform that promotes wholesome and nutritionally balanced food choices. They offered me to use their space - cafe and kitchen - and at the end I agreed to that. To cooperate with them I had to let go my dream about the bakery and to come up with some healthier alternative. That’s how Better Bentos was born. Although unexpected, I believe this change was only for the better. Now instead of bread I can eat much healthier food (laugh).
